Prof. Solaf M Elsayed
A professor of Medical Genetics, Medical Genetics Department, Faculty of Medicine, Ain shams University and an active member of several societies of genetic and liver diseases.
She has a special interest in inborn errors of metabolism especially lysosomal storage diseases, genetic liver diseases, osteogenesis imperfecta, genetic deafness, lipodystrophies, skeletal dysplasias, and Cockayne syndrome.
Dr Solaf has supervised medical genetic training of hundreds of students in different medical specialties over the last 25 years as well as doctorate and master thesis. She also pioneered several parents education programs and wrote several local patients’ targeted booklets in the last 10 years.
She has published distinguished work in both international and local journals.

Egyptian Journal of Medical Human Genetics (EJMHG) is an open access, peer-reviewed journal with a focus on reporting innovations within the field of human and medical genetics. The journal considers articles on all aspects of the genetic basis of human disease, with a particular emphasis on biochemical genetics, biological studies of enzymes and other protein deficiencies, as well as immunogenetics. Other topics of interest include investigations of the pathogenesis of inherited disorders and practical advances in the molecular diagnosis of human disease. Articles presenting clinical applications of genomics and next generation sequencing technologies are considered valuable contributions.
Egyptian Journal of Medical Human Genetics welcomes submissions of editorials, research, reviews, case reports, correspondence, meta-analysis and commentaries.
